Hello EYI Members! I’m Jaimie Skultety, your Productivity Mentor. Here’s my post for “Leverage Your Lifestyle Business Fridays.”
It’s been a phenomenal week for me AND for my business as I continue to expand my team. I already have some terrific people working for me. However, even though I enjoy every moment, I’ve been feeling constricted and overloaded and somewhat frustrated as far as business growth is concerned.
You see, I’ve been the person overseeing every single aspect of every single strategy, project and task for every client we have. The truth–as I’ve come to realize–is that my clients hire my company for the RESULTS we provide. They are not as concerned as I have always believed about WHO DOES the work or HOW the work actually gets done. For me, this has been an amazing revelation! Still though, I never expected to find someone who could essentially ‘be me.’ In recent months, I’ve faced ‘head on’ the fact that in order for my business to continue to grow and to attract ideal clients, I must be open to the possibility that perhaps–just perhaps–there would be such a person, someone who might even do things as well and as efficiently as I do! Then I began to wonder if perhaps this person, if (s)he exists, could bring even MORE to the ‘big picture’ and my long-term vision. Well, guess what!? I have found this person! Necessarily, of course, I was very selective in my interviewing and my hiring process, but my new project manager is essentially MY CLONE…on steroids! LOL. In just a couple of weeks she has already come to understand my systems and processes and has brought a significant level of comfort to me, my clients, and our other team members and is taking care of things magnificently! She’s keeping me moving along, propping me up, and most importantly helping to free up my time so I can work on bringing more clients to the business, creating more opportunities, and ultimately ensuring the stability and long-term continued growth I desire.
As a Virtual Assistant, I now know how my clients feel when they make their decision to work with me. They feel served. And now, so do I. My clients are confident in knowing they have a TEAM to rely on. They know they can reach out to our Project Manager directly and yet I’m still in the loop on everything. One of my clients shared her comfort with me this week by saying, “I am excited to see all the great outcomes of you and your team’s work. I appreciate all your efforts and ‘hand-holding’ on my behalf!”
